Go Pink with the MSUM Dragons!

The MSUM Athletic department has partnered with local businesses to bring awareness to breast cancer and to raise funds for Roger Maris Cancer Center located in Fargo, ND. All activities are scheduled during the week of February 16-21, 2009. 

I have donated two portrait session packages to help raise money for the “Go Pink with the Dragons” this week.

One package is in the on-line auction through EBay. To view that package click here.  In the middle of the page you will see  in red the words “click here to bid in the on-line auction.” That will then take you to EBay where you will have to sign in.

The other package will be part of the silent auction that will be held on Saturday evening during the basketball games at  Nemzek Hall starting at 6pm.

If you will be scheduling pictures for your child or family this year, what  better way to get some  beautiful portraits and to help raise money for the Roger Maris Cancer Center!

North Carolina here we come!

Well the plane tickets are purchased and in May I’ll be off to beautiful Charlotte, NC for the engagement session of Danielle and Kyle and then down to Auburn to check out the wedding venue for their ’09 wedding.  I am so excited about the location… I can not wait to scout out some fantastic locations for the 2 as well as some fine dining experiences.  I am also looking forward to meeting “Noodles” who will be part of the pictures as well. 🙂  The ideas are abundantly overflowing in my brain! 

 June will be full of weddings with one being at the Town and Country club located on the lake in Bemidji, MN… Weather permitting the ceremony will take place outdoors.. 🙂  I am also looking forward to my July weddings up in Grand Forks and another  along the North Shores of Duluth, Minnesota at Luetsen Resort and Lodge!   This will be an exciting wedding summer for sure.

Relaxing night!

Last night I had the joy of getting out and taking in a great concert with two other fabulous gals and a lot of people I didn’t know. 🙂  Not sure if any of you out there have heard of Steven Curtis Chapman… but if you’ve been to a lot of weddings, you have heard his music, the ever popular… “Tomorrow morning when you wake up and the sun does not appear… I will be here.. ”  He’s been around awhile but is still as good as ever.  He has two sons that are on tour with him who are very talented musicians as well.  It so refreshing to get out and hear some good, clean music! The night was not only relaxing ( I didn’t even bring my camera.) but inspiring!  Thanks Melissa B. for the treat.  I am looking forward to my  session with Murray this week.  He will bring along his parents for their first session.  I am excited to work with Marie in capturing some beautiful moments with  her son. Sam will be popping in for his two year pictures. Again… I can’t believe he’s two!  All my babies are growing up, which means my little “EmP” will be turning two before I know it… sigh….

It’s been a great week… thank you to Tanya for the wonderful meeting; to Patti and Peter for coming over for a quick engagement session {brrr…} and  to Jay and Jillian for being so prompt, I look forward to meeting you! Also to Danielle, I am excited to head south in May. 🙂   

It’s Christmas time…

The Christmas season is upon us photographers and it once again becomes a crazy time of year as we push out the card designs and photo gifts galore!  Deadlines for the ever popular double sided image card will be November 5th and November 19th for one sided cards.  Photo purses must be ordered by Nov. 8th.  The deadline for all sterling silver pieces will be November 22nd.  Our High Definition image tiles have been a huge hit amongst clientele and studios thus November 25th will be the deadline for all tiles.  Our line of ornaments and tags will have an order deadline of  Nov. 25th as well! DECK YOUR WALLS! 🙂

house update…

The new house has been keeping me busy, I find myself in the Moorhead area at least 2 times a week if not more this past month!  Our “builder team” has done a wonderful job of keeping everyone on track for our projected finish date. They are steadily working on trim, lighting and installing some of the flooring.  Once I get some more color on the walls there will be pictures to post… right now it’s one big white house inside.  The wall colors are more on the calm side which will be a nice contrast to the dark espresso wood floors.  It seems the whole process has gone by so fast, but with a family and a growing business life never does seem to slow down…

The House…

Well we are into week 10 of construction of our new home and it has been a wonderful experience so far!  The framing is done, the plumbing and wiring are complete and the windows are almost all in. This week saw the completion of central vac (yes, I am VERY excited {thank you Doug}) and the wiring of surround sound on the main floor and outdoor patio area.  The insulating has been started and rock will start once windows are doors are in.  Those late nights viewing HGTV has come in handy with the decision making process!  It will be fun watching it all come together inside and then completing the outside areas in the spring.  We are excited to get the patio done and add a little concrete stamping and acid washing to the mix. Now that there is a little more substance to the house than just the foundation I will have to post a couple of pictures.

Where did that last 11 months go?

When I fist started my blog back in Aug. ’06, I had every intention of updating it with each passing session or exciting news… well here it is July of ’07 and I am just updating!  The last 10 months seem nothing more than a blur at times… It has been a crazy season filled with engagment sessions, weddings along with a ton of children’s essions.  The addition of many new and exciting products has taken up a lot of time as well.  I will also be moving my business to the Fargo/Moorhead location this fall.  We are in the process of building a new home that will have a seperate studio, I am very excited about this as it will allow me to do the things I love the most… photography and work at home so that I can be close to  my 3 girls.  Construction should be finished late October as long as I can get all of the design elements together!  It has been fun picking out flooring, fixtures and everything else that goes along with it.  I will be anxious to have it all come together.

I am in the midst of the wedding season and have had to opprotunity to photograph many beautiful couples and witness amazing wedding ceremonies!  I look forward to each unique wedding that I photograph.  The 2008 season has already started to fill up with commissions in North Dakota and Minnesota.  Well here I am again hoping to keep you updated with what’s going on around here.  Hopefully I will do a better job!Keep checking back to view some images from recent sessions.  Until then~
